Positive Psychology

Positive Psychology is the modern scientific study of the strengths and virtues that enable individuals and communities to thrive. Founded on the belief that people want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, to cultivate what is best within themselves, and to achieve success and personal fulfillment in their relationships, careers, and all parts of their lives, it is committed to bringing the world to a state of greater well-being.

Historically, most psychological research and endeavor has focused on how to improve the areas in which human beings struggle, on how to fix what is going wrong. Traditional psychology motivates to change primarily as a reaction to personal suffering and difficulty. Positive Psychology focuses on how to enhance and build upon the areas of life in which people thrive.

One of the key ways in which it accomplishes this is by teaching people how to discover, and live by, their unique strengths. With over a decade of research and empirical evidence behind it, Positive Psychology is beginning to deliver to the world its message: You can achieve fulfillment in life by building on your strengths and on the things that are going right in life.
